Q: I have never done hair extensions before, how do I begin offering this service? A: First you would want to purchase a kit and take the hands on training. The kit does come with an instructional DVD, but we strongly suggest the hands on so that you can follow along with an instructor who can guide you through the process and give you helpful tips along with answering any technical questions. Not only would the training provide you with the proper application process, but also the proper removal process. This way, you know you are providing your clients with the best service and technique. Q: Why should I choose Donna Bella as my extension line for my business? A: The quality of the hair and the application technique. Please visit our quality section for more information on this subject. Q: How many strands of hair are required/needed for a full head of extensions? A: Typically an average full head of extensions requires 100-120 strands of hair. Each of our packs of hair include 20 pieces of hair. However, based on the length and thickness of your client's hair, the number of strands needed can vary. For example, if you have a client with a short bob haircut, you may need to use 200 strands of hair versus a client that may have shoulder length hair and you would only need to use 80 strands. Q: What color of hair should I choose to match my customer as closely as possible? A: Choose the color from the color ring that is closest to your client's natural or colored hair color. Q: Now that the extensions are in, what can I do with them? A: You can do anything to the extensions that you would to your client's natural hair. You can blow dry it, curl it, flatten it, color it, whatever you wish. Q: How does my client care for their hair? A: Detangle with a wide tooth comb; shampoo the hair in a gentle manner; only use conditioner from below the tip the extension to the end of the extension; be sure to dry the hair 90% before using the hair extension brush if your client is performing a blow dry style; be sure to keep curling and flat irons away from the tip of the extension at the bond; never go to bed with wet hair; avoid swimming in the ocean as the salt water can tend to break down the bonds of the extensions; Following these steps will ensure the life of the extensions and the natural hair.
